What We Do

The Wellfiks Foundation was created to provide the first integrated, multidisciplinary model in Haiti exclusively dedicated to adolescent girls and young women survivors of sexual violence, abandonment, and extreme vulnerability.

Unlike fragmented emergency aid, Wellfiks is built as a complete ecosystem of protection, healing, education, and empowerment. Our approach is both immediate and long-term, designed not only to rescue but also to rebuild lives and futures.

  1. Immediate Protection and Safe Shelter
    • Secure housing facilities designed to provide immediate refuge to survivors in danger.
    • 24/7 professional supervision by trained caregivers (“house mothers”) who provide stability, affection, and discipline.
    • Strict phone and external contact policies to protect minors from re-exposure, harassment, or gang targeting.
    • A stabilization program that ensures each girl regains a sense of safety and dignity upon arrival.
  2. Medical and Psychological Care
    • On-site medical unit led by nurses and visiting doctors, providing gynecological care, post-trauma treatment, and reproductive health services.
    • Comprehensive mental health program, including individual therapy, group therapy, and trauma-informed resilience workshops.
    • Partnership with international psychologists and trauma specialists to bring best-in-class methodologies to Haiti.
  3. Education and Academic Reintegration
    • Internal school facility offering remedial education for girls who dropped out due to trauma or pregnancies.
    • Partnerships with universities and online education providers to ensure higher education pathways.
    • Digital literacy and IT training rooms, equipping survivors with 21st-century skills.
    • A full mentorship program connecting survivors with role models and professionals.
  4. Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship
    • Training in sewing, cooking, cosmetology, crafts, agriculture, and digital entrepreneurship.
    • Programs tailored to local markets to ensure real employability.
    • Support in launching micro-businesses with seed funding and mentorship.
    • Establishment of a Wellfiks Cooperative, where products created by beneficiaries (crafts, art, clothing) can be sold nationally and internationally.
  5. Personal Development & Leadership
    • Daily workshops in confidence-building, discipline, ethics, spirituality, and human values.
    • Sports, arts, yoga, and cultural activities to rebuild joy, self-expression, and emotional resilience.
    • A Leadership Academy within the Foundation to identify and prepare future changemakers from among survivors.
  6. Reintegration & Post-Care
    • A structured exit program, providing housing support, scholarships, or employment placement.
    • Ongoing monitoring of each graduate’s progress for at least 24 months post-reintegration.
    • Community reintegration events, fostering acceptance of survivors back into society.
    • Alumni network: former beneficiaries become ambassadors and peer mentors for new arrivals.

🌍 In summary:
Wellfiks Foundation is not a shelter. It is a holistic system of protection, healing, and empowerment that turns the most vulnerable girls into resilient, educated, and empowered young women.
